Funny adding glitch I guess. Too bad I couldn't use all those gems!Now for our Monday mystery . . . but I guess it's kinda mixed with the Jamaasian Movement as well. Read below. . .

It seems AJHQ is changing shamans to alphas.

Some say it may be offensive because it's affiliated with a certain culture, but I think that the word "shaman" is perfectly alright. By making the world of Jamaa Animal Jam is essentially creating a religion for the land itself, it shouldn't have to stick to any rules. In fact, wouldn't simply having two main deities (Zios and Mira) offend some people?

Now here is the mystery/discussion. . .

Does having a spiritual-ish religion in Jamaa offend you?

Do you dislike the two deities? Would the leading animals

being called "shamans" infringe on your beliefs?

Why does AJHQ find the need to change all of the sudden?

Heya Jammers! Today's new item is the Fox Tail Chair. You can buy it in Jam Mart Furniture.

Also, here is a funny sound glitch to try out, sent in by werty12345. Don't try it if you're easily annoyed by noise!

Click a pet icon anywhere in Jamaa.

Click the next button on the bottom right.

Click the randomize name lever.

Quickly click the close button.

Click the "Leave" before the lever sound stops.

Enjoy the beautiful noise.

 

Did I say beautiful? I meant very painful. To end the torture repeat the steps but let the lever noise stop before closing the pet finder. I guess this is just something RUUNDOOM to do, hope you like it. O.o Happy jamming everyone, see you around!

 

Crossbows and Durpness

Hey jammers! the new item of the day is the Crossbow, for sale in the clothing globe of Epic Wonders.

Thank goodness we have a break in the golden items, but doesn't this seem a little AWESOME for the social game that Animal Jam is? Hmm. . . Also, AJHQ posted two new articles.

It is confirmed, the den contest is not over! Still, a bit sad for everyone (including me) who sent in underground dens ideas and so were automatically rejected..... :( Oh well, exciting new den to look forward too, what will it be?......

Hey jammers! So much interesting stuff with this update, I'm practically bursting with excitement! First is today's new item.

You can buy your own Tree Stump Table at Jam Mart Furniture. It seems to have a lot to do with the new underground den called the Enchanted Hollow sold in the Den Shop.

Here is an overview picture of what the inside looks like.

And to be honest I don't know if it's the official winner of den contest or not. They made it too fast for it to be selected, so I guess AJHQ just chose art that worked with it.

This kind of makes me sad because that means no one who drew an underground den can win the contest, even though AJHQ used their ideas. If you'd like to see my underground contest entry click here.

Now let's move on to more cheerful things. :) Turtles now are land or ocean animals, depending on their flipper shape.

There is also a fun new game in the Summer Carnival!

It looks like you get the most points hitting balloons with letters, and be sure to hit those pesky dart-eating phantoms!

There are also useful new tools in the settings menu.

Meanwhile we are super close to returning monkeys to Jamaa (maybe they'll be in time for their shaman. . .).

And finally I'd like to say - WE DID IT!

Thanks to you guys the Jamaasian Movement took the first step of returning Jamaa to it's roots. And now AJHQ has turned that step into a huge LEAP! Guess who's coming back?

*does a funny little dance waving paws wildly*

We did it jammers! We asked AJHQ to bring back the shamans and they will! Hopefully the stories of Jamaa will return along with them, we'll just have to wait and see. Is anyone as excited as I am about their return? Hope to see you in Jamaa!

"Hey jammers. Many may have over-thought the goal of the Jamaasian Movement recently, and some hate the Jamaasian Movement for these made-up goals. This post is to set everything straight, and hopefully outline what I was hoping to do in our future. I'd love to hear opinions and ideas.

The Jamaasian Movement is about naming the shamans. That's our first goal. It's still in progress. With the naming of the horse, penguin and fox shamans it appears we're really making a difference. The stand is not over though, we still need to tell AJHQ the unnamed giraffe shaman matter. Do you agree?

If you'd like to contribute to the naming of the shamans click here. Even those who've already submitted their words to AJHQ could do it again, I certainly will. We can't give up until they are all named! Without support this will die, I need your help.

The Jamaasian Movement is NOT about bringing back beta. We simply can't bring back beta - it was a short testing period during the summer of 2010. It's gone. No matter how much we want it, beta will never return. Only creative elements of beta can come back. We can only look to the future of Jamaa.

Some may say - "It's just a game." It IS an online game, but it's also an escape. An escape from the everyday world for over six million around the world. A fun place for all ages to socialize and just have some simple fun. The problem is, the fun is getting too simple. Too easy. Too normal. Gems, tickets, rares.

We're losing our creativity; the stories and history of Jamaa are disappearing. The game is losing it's depth. Do we want Animal Jam to be like all the other games out there? Do we want another ordinary game? Isn't imagination a key part of Jamaa?

I hope you stuck with me through this wordy post, I know it probably isn't what you came to AJS for. Thanks for all support to the Jamaasian Movement, happy jamming."
